Transfer from Nedap XS to Nedap AEOS
Company Profile
Bilfinger Berger Industrial Services AG headquartered in Munich is one of the most renowned providers
of industrial services in Europe. Bilfinger Berger Industrial Services AG is a separate sub-group within
the Bilfinger Berger Group and is originally established in 1887. It has over 14,500 employees today and
generates total revenues of more than EUR 1 billion.
The divisions in Western, Central and Eastern Europe for Industrial Services offer a wide range of
services and equipment for the construction and maintenance of industrial plants including special skills
for noise control.
Demand
After Reinhold & Mahla AG became part of Bilfinger Berger Industrial Services AG, some changes took
place. One of the measures taken was the change of the access control system from Nedap.
Formerly, the Nedap access control system XS was in place. This system needed to be upgraded to the
newest technology and be ready for future demands. Flexibility and user-friendliness were qualifications
for the new system.
The Nedap XS system functioned reliably since 1998, which was the reason for Bilfinger Berger
Industrial Services AG to choose for a solution from Nedap again.
Configuration
Bilfinger Berger Industrial Services AG will use the AEOS professional system. The system consists of
an intelligent door controller (AP4801) and two additional reader units (AP4001). The task of the reader
units is to, among others, control and monitor the remaining doors. The AP4801 handles the
administration of users, badge information, doors and time schedules and serves as central door control
unit for the two additional units. At present, 190 employees are administered in the AEOS Professional
system of Bilfinger & Berger.
Migration
In relation to Nedap XS, AEOS Professional offers improved features. New functionalities reduce the
workload significantly:
- Automatic back-up of authorizations and events
- Integrated Webserver
- Remote control via TCP/IP
- No dedicated PC or software required
- List of all individuals present
Nedap has successfully completed the upturn from Access system to Access control system with AEOS
professional. AEOS Professional can be upgraded to AEOS Enterprise without losing the value of
previous investments and it can grow along with your company to a global system.
