Nedap N.V. releases new software version of AEOS
Security Management systems manufacturer, Nedap N.V., announces the release of AEOS 2.2 Enterprise Edition with improved management features and expanded security options.
The new functionalities in AEOS 2.2 provide security managers with more options to monitor and control the flow of people on their premises. AEOS 2.2 makes it easier to control the movements of people with temporary access rights. The new feature, called Security Levels, gives security managers more control of access to their premises in crisis situations.
Keeping up with customer demands "Nedap is constantly updating and improving its complete range of security management hard- and software. says product manager Joffry Maltha. We are finding that the decision we made back in 1999 to develop a completely new, fully IP-based security management system, based on IT standards, is paying off. While more and more players in the industry are struggling with end-of-life-cycle problems in their technology, we are able to increase our speed of development. Our library of behaviour components , little embedded software packages that determine the specific behaviour of the hardware, is still growing steady. This enables us to introduce new value-added features in our system that keeps the AEOS security management system in step with our customers needs. AEOS 2.2 offers new features that make it easier to manage a secured environment. With organizations everywhere facing complex demands in terms of security needs, an increasing flow of people and a growing number of centrally supervised locations, it is essential to have a system that can accommodate these demands."
Enhanced management features In AEOS 2.2, operation, management and control have been made more effective and user-friendly.
The new finger matcher in AEOS allows users to get the best out of Biometric Identification.
Extra filters, such as schedule and locker filters, have been added. In another improvement, the photos stored in your security management system can now be given limited validity. This helps guards and receptionists to determine whether the person carrying an access badge is indeed the owner of that badge. After all, people s faces change over time and outdated photos in your system make it very difficult to judge their legitimacy. The use of Biometrics has also been improved. AEOS 2.2 includes a search by fingerprints option, which prevents people having multiple fingerprints with different names in the database.
Extended Visitor and Authorization Management Other new features in AEOS 2.2 allow security managers to put more restrictions on the movements of people with temporary access rights. Extended Visitor Management shortens waiting times at reception desks and reduces corruption of the database through human error. To make the visitor management procedure even more secure, extra limitations can be built into visitors or contractors access rights. It is now possible to restrict people s total presence time or the number of movements they are allowed in a certain zone.
Security Levels Under normal circumstances security management systems allow organizations to regulate and closely monitor employee and visitor traffic. But in emergencies this carefully constructed control is given up in a single moment. The only option is then to lock or unlock all entrances, allowing either no-one or everyone to get in or out. AEOS new security levels option provides a more secure alternative by retaining control of access to the premises even during a crisis. By defining various security levels and categorizing everyone who is given access to the premises, it is possible to manipulate peoples and vehicles access rights instantly. Every organization can pre-define its own crisis scenarios and use these to switch to a different access mode in a matter of seconds.
Other new functionalities that have been added to AEOS include locker management and improved intrusion options. To learn more about any of our most recent additions, please visit Nedap N.V. Security Management at www.nedap-aeos.com or contact us at info@nedap-aeos.com.
