Nedap Security Management introduces a new DESFire reader: Convexs® MD80

New 'dual technology' card reader for Mifare Classic and DESFire credentials

Convexs MD80

Nedap Security Management announces the introduction of a new reader in the Convexs reader series for Mifare DESFire credentials: the MD80. With the MD80 Nedap targets customers that are looking for more secure readers and credentials.

The new reader can also read Mifare Classic credentials, making it very suitable for existing customers who want to migrate to Mifare DESFire.

Its 'dual technology' reading capabilities avoid being forced to change all credentials overnight. Thus avoiding a considerable migration headache. Customers can keep a mixed pool of both Mifare DESFire and Mifare Classic credentials, and gradually replace existing cards.

The new Convexs MD80 is part of the recently introduced Convexs reader series. Convexs card readers combine exceptional slim design with an extensive range of reading options.

Convexs readers are available for Nedap, Mifare Classic and Mifare DESFire credentials, and in several 'dual technology' versions. The Mifare versions (M80, MN80 and MD80) can read the MIFARE CSN, Sector data, and support the MAD. All types are available in both flush and surface mount housing. The flush mount version has especially been designed to fit in a junction box. Additional vandal proof protectors are available to protect the reader in harsh environments.

With the Convexs reader series the AEOS security management system provides for both secure and stylish readers.
